People-Centric Cultures Pay Big Dividends: Lessons From Great Companies
Featuring Ann Rhoades, PRES (Person Responsible for Extraordinary Services), People Ink
Ann Rhoades, former Executive Vice President of People at JetBlue Airways, was one of five core leaders to launch the airline in February 2000. She believes in people and their ability to accomplish the extraordinary, when they are given the authority and responsibility to succeed. Her candor about the mistakes she's made and the lessons she's learned is the driving force behind her desire to inspire organizations to:
- Build sustainable cultures based on values unique to their environment
- Select and retain "A" players
- Treat employees "fairly," not equally
- Deliver extraordinary customer-centric service
- Break the rules
- Go from "good" to "great"
Rhoades' dynamic style and commitment to quality have led her to be a driving force in many high-profile companies, including Southwest Airlines, Doubletree Hotels and First Interstate Bank. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the College of Santa Fe, and earned her MBA at the University of New Mexico.
