How and why did you come to work with law firms? Konica Minolta has changed its territory structure from physical territories to vertical markets. The reason for this is so that we would have specialized individuals dealing with a number of different industries so that we would be able to provide a high level of expertise to our customers and potential customers. I was chosen to work with the legal industry because it was felt that I would be a great fit in dealing with law firms, their extremely busy schedules and the full spectrum of solutions that could be provided to them.
Why is your service/product important to law firms? Law firms, courts and legal service providers are in a constant race to keep ahead of 21st century challenges, and research has shown that content can grow by up to 100% each year. Compliance becomes more difficult and complex, security needs continually increase, managing records and retrieving documents consumes valuable time and managing and recovering costs becomes more and more difficult. To succeed in these competitive business conditions, legal clients will be searching for sophisticated services at lower costs to combat these ongoing challenges. What makes your service/product unique? Legal requirements demand new and better ways to manage records in both hard copy and electronic forms. Fast scanning speeds and real-time TWAIN drivers for all of Konica Minolta's Bizhub and Bizhub Production equipment allow for one step scanning directly to document management systems for fast, easy indexing as well as archiving and retrieval, which increases the efficiency of busy office personnel. For meetings and courtrooms, legal documents in binders with tab pages can require costly and time consuming outsource printing. However, several of our Bizhub devices allow tab printing directly from their standard print drivers and they are easy to set up, even for beginners. This is yet another way that Konica Minolta is focused on saving law firms time and money through increased efficiencies.
