A letter from Lindsay Smythe, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Medford and Somerville:

Dear Friends at the ALA Boston Chapter,

I am so pleased to share with you that the ALA Boston Chapter has been
selected as our Medford Community Partner of the Year and we will honor you
at our Inspiration Celebration on April 11th!

On behalf of the staff, board and members of our Medford Club, thank you
for all you and the ALA Boston Chapter community do to support our Medford
Club, staff, and members. Your multi-year investment in our Medford Club's
Teen Programs has been truly transformative. We have year-round, full-time,
dedicated staffing, a growing teen membership base, expanded teen
programming, more hours for teen activities at the Club, and amazing
results! Please take a look at the attached Youth Risk Behavior Survey
results and see how our Medford teen programs are having a positive impact
and surpassing other like programs around the state and country.

We couldn't do what we do without the generosity of friends like you, and
we are just so excited to honor you in April at our 2018 Inspiration

The event will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 6 to 9pm at the
Center for the Arts at the Armory at 191 Highland Avenue in Somerville. You
will have 15 tickets (we can talk if you need more!) for use by members of
the ALA Boston Chapter and their guests. These tickets are complimentary
thanks to our generous sponsors! Please let me know your guest list as you
put it together.

The event will feature local food, drink, live music, a silent auction, and
two raffles. It is a mostly stand up, mingling party vs. a seated dinner.
We want you and your guests to enjoy yourselves and have a great time! We
usually start the award portion of the program around 7/7:15pm.

I'll be sending you a few copies of the official event invitation and you
can learn more at We ask
you to help us promote the event in the Greater Boston community.

You can reach me anytime with any questions or to talk more about this
event at this email address or at my office (781) 391-5958 or on my cell
(978) 239-3589.

Again, congratulations and thank you for all you do to support our Club and
make our community a better place!

In gratitude,
