Presidents Message:
Hello Fellow ALA Boston Chapter Members:
It is my great pleasure serve as the 2004-2005 President. Thank you for having the trust in me to lead this organization for the upcoming year! Last year we worked hard to improve and strengthen the organization in many areas. Through fiscal responsibility and the vendor sponsorship program we have strengthened the organization financially which has and will allow us to continue to improve educational programming, give more scholarships to both national and regional meetings, and develop new benefits for our
members.
My overall goal for my tenure is to continue to make the Boston Chapter the best, strongest, most financially stable chapter in the ALA and here is how we will do it:
- Continue the partnership with our vendor sponsors for the upcoming year;
- Working with Deborah Lemmerman and the Program Committee to deliver the best educational programs possible, by getting the best, most interesting, knowledgeable speakers on law firm management issues throughout the year;
- Working with Stephanie Hood and the One Day Educational Program Committee to ensure the success of the first annual One Day Educational Conference;
- Working with the Board of Directors, continue to strengthen member benefits and create incentive programs to control and reduce members dues;
- Working with Paul Masuret and the Membership Committee to continue to grow membership to reach our goal of 200 members within 3 to 5 years;
- Have a successful Chapter Challenge and other community partnerships;
- Continue to strengthen and improve alaboston.org (our website);
- Strengthen our relationship with ALA National.
The success of our chapter relies on all members to participate in any way you can. We can do this by learning from each other, attending as many chapter events as possible, volunteering for various committees, referring non-members to join the ALA and our Chapter (there is strength in numbers) to support our vendor sponsors by using and referring them whenever possible and by getting involved in running the chapter in some way.
I look forward to having a very exciting year!
Sincerely,
Christopher O’Sullivan
Chapter President
