A quarterly newletter by the Boston Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators

It is hard to think of where this chapter would be if not for the incredible volunteers that have brought us to places we never imagined. One of the best parts of serving in chapter leadership is working alongside these remarkable volunteers who are truly the reason this chapter is so successful. At one time I was hesitant to get involved for fear of the time commitment entailed. Looking back, I am so glad that I said yes. I truly believe that I am a better administrator today because of the information I have gathered and people I have met along the way.
Three years ago, the chapter underwent restructuring, adding new positions in order to serve the membership more effectively. We now have the following committees:
Membership: Oversees the recruitment and retention of members.
Programs: Plans the 9 monthly luncheon topics plus the All Day Program.
Vendor Relations: Oversees the recruitment and retention of vendor sponsors.
Communications and Web: Maintains the lines of communication to members, including the chapter newsletter and website.
Community Service: Works on various programs for the less fortunate members of our community.
These committees are the backbone of the Chapter. As such, we must keep infusing them with new members with fresh ideas. The Board will be changing in May, and with that change many committees will need replenishing. Now is the time to step forward and volunteer to help your Chapter maintain the high quality that we have come to enjoy. The committee chairs will be making their calls in the coming months to recruit members for their committees. Why wait for the call? Find a committee that interests you and call the chairperson currently listed on the web page.
We can never have too many people. Come join the fun of being part of the Chapter’s success and reap the many rewards of involvement.
