IT Educational Program & Roundtable - “GDPR Comes to Boston:  Should We Be Afraid?”

Topic:  “GDPR Comes to Boston:  Should We Be Afraid?”

Subtopic: Privacy Regulations

Speaker:   Joseph “Joe” Laferrera

Learn about the potential impact of GDPR on the Boston (and beyond) legal landscape.  This could impact firms of all sizes, regardless if you have offices or employees governed directly by the regulation. Think 201 CMR 17.00 on a global platform. There will be a question and answer period and group roundtable immediately following the presentation.

About the speaker: Joe is a partner with Gesmer Updegrove and, among other hats, heads the firm’s Data Security and Privacy practice area.  He is an expert in guiding his clients through the statutory and regulatory morass that governs business and personal data.  Joe provides insight and practical advice on protecting the security and privacy of data.  He is familiar with the myriad federal laws touching on privacy and states differing approach to data breach notification.

He will be speaking to us about the potential impact of GDPR on the Boston (and beyond) legal landscape with an emphasis on all sized firms who may not have offices or employees governed directly by the regulation.
