IOLTA Accounts and Unclaimed Property- What Law Firms Need to Know 

Please join us at the next Boston Chapter Finance Program and Roundtable scheduled for Thursday, February 28th at noon. Jayne Tyrrell, Director of the Massachusetts IOLTA Committee, will be joining us to speak about the history and purpose of the IOLTA Committee, and provide best practice recommendations regarding IOLTA accounts.  Ms. Tyrrell will also discuss unclaimed property guidelines and what firms should be doing with stale funds.

JAYNE B. TYRRELL is the Director of the Massachusetts Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts (IOLTA) Committee. The program provides funds for legal services to the poor and for improving the administration of justice. Ms. Tyrrell was recently appointed to the ABA Commission on IOLTA. She  is a former president of the National Association of IOLTA Programs (NAIP). Ms. Tyrrell serves on the BBA’s Delivery of Legal Services Section and the MBA’s Access to Justice Section Council. On the national level, Ms. Tyrrell also works with the ABA/NAIP Joint Meetings Committee, the National Coalition for a Civil Right to Counsel, and the Self-Represented Litigation Network.
