For the third consecutive year, the Boston Chapter's Community Engagement Committee has issued a challenge to help us reach our goal of $10,000! In the previous two years, the Chapter raised over $15,000 and $11,000 consecutively during the August Challenge alone, and was able to transform the B&GC's young adult program, impacting more than 30 individuals.

With our support, the B&GCMS were able to help these young adults conduct:

  • College Visits
  • Team Building Activities
  • Collaborative trip with Medford High School Department
  • Helping with College and Financial Aide Applications
  • Developing a Keystone Leadership program
  • Career Night
  • And more...

We, as part of the best Chapter in the ALA, should be proud of the impact we have made. To keep this going, we are asking for your help again! We are challenging all of  our members, firms, business partners and friends to raise/donate as much as possible to this great cause again in 2018. Please donate whatever you can:  $10, $20, $50, $100 or more by the end of August. This is a "strength in numbers" campaign - if everyone participates we will easily exceed our goal.  Please remember that the Boston Chapter “owns” this B&GC program and without our support, it does not exist.

Aside from feeling great about helping support an unfunded high school program for teenage youth, you will also get your name on the website as a donor to the cause!  We have named August “Boys & Girls Clubs Challenge Month”, and we know this great Chapter is up the challenge!

In addition to individual donations, here are some ideas of other ways to raise money:

  • Ask for firm donations
  • Hold Ice Cream Socials
  • Hold Pizza parties
  • Hold Jeans/dress down day
  • Hold departmental challenges
  • Hold a book sale
  • Raffle vacation days
  • Raffle sporting event tickets
  • Reach out to firm suppliers/vendors asking for donations
  • Hld other creative contests
  • Ask Firm if they would match personal donations

100% of all donations raised will be given to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Medford and Somerville!

Checks can be made out to Boston Chapter ALA or directly to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Medford and Somerville and sent to: Boston Chapter ALA, 4 Lan Drive, Suite 310, Westford, MA 01886.
Donations can also be made via credit or debit card at our GoFundMe page: ALA GoFundMe2018.  You can track our progress via GoFundMe or here on our website.

Let’s show everyone why we have the best Chapter in the ALA!
