Bove & Langa has a long history of community service and involvement. We encourage our employees to participate in making our industry and our community a better place to work and live. In this light we want to share with you a tremendous undertaking spearheaded by our Chief Operating Officer Kim McMahon. Kim is a member of the Boston Chapter of Legal Administrators and the VP of the Diversity & Inclusion committee. From the inception of the committee, it has been their mission to develop and promote programs that foster an inclusive environment within the Boston ALA Chapter, the legal industry and the broader communities the ALA serves.

Kim thought partnering with YMCA Training Inc. seemed like a natural fit. Below is an excerpt from the ALA Newsletter that further explains the program.

YMCA Training, Inc. Update
A Message of Gratitude

Please join us in congratulating Kim McMahon, VP of Diversity & Inclusion, and her committee members and volunteers on a hugely successful inaugural module - the culmination of countless hours (and over 2 years) of hard work and dedication. The Boston Chapter is beyond proud of this accomplishment and its partnership with YMCA Training, Inc.

The Legal Office Assistant Training Program began on March 5, and celebrated its final day of classes on April 26, 2019. The Program Trainees now enter the final 4 weeks of customer service simulations and will then be ready to begin internships. As you know, the D&I Committee have been working closely with YMCA Training, Inc. to develop and execute this legal administrative support curriculum for their training program.  https://ymcaboston.org/traininginc

The Legal Office Assistant Training Program is now a permanent part of the curriculum at Training, Inc., and Bove & Langa is hosting an intern from the program this summer, Louisa Harrington.

As professional advisors you may at times have room in your organization for interns. Consider offering an eight week internship to one of Training, Inc.'s trainees from this new module.  And if the internship turns out to be a great fit and a permanent hire, there is no hiring fee!

And now for the ALA plug! If you work in a law firm, the Boston Chapter of the ALA has great opportunities for your office manager, HR manager or director to network with other professionals in similar circumstances, keep abreast of workplace trends and stay informed with timely educational seminars. Membership & business partner opportunities can be found here: https://www.alaboston.org
