350 Face Masks Donated to Bridge Over Troubled Waters

Thanks to your continued support of the Chapter, the Community Engagement Committee was able to use a portion of its 2020 budget to purchase 360 face masks from business partner Tuttle Printing & Engraving and donate them to Bridge Over Troubled Waters

Last week, in partnership with the City of Boston and Emerson College, Bridge Over Troubled Waters opened up a new temporary residence for 20 homeless youth at Emerson College. The youth are all new contacts to Bridge who reached out since the onset of COVID-19 and many were previously sleeping on the street or in other unsafe places.  Bridge thanked ALA Boston for the donation on Twitter and said, “Being able to provide youth and staff involved in this new program with masks from ALA has made a tremendous difference in helping them feel safe and comfortable in their new temporary home”.

The Community Engagement Committee is continually looking for ways to help our neighbors. Join our wonderful team and help us select our next project!  Contact Tim Hardin for more information.
