The Boston Chapter Board of Directors announced to Members and Business Partners yesterday that the Chapter has pledged to help those in and around the Houston, TX area in light of the recent hurricane/tropical storm by making a donation of $5 per Boston Chapter Member ($1,005) to the Red Cross. Boston Chapter President Chris O'Sullivan also challenged other ALA Chapters across the world to do the same. Chapters around the US have taken up the challenge and are making donations that match their membership to the Red Cross's Hurricane Harvey Fund, demonstrating the compassion and strength of the Association's members. As of this morning, 22 of 93 Chapters have already donated in response to the Boston Chapter's challenge.
ALA International and many chapters took up the Boston Chapter's call to help hurricane victims. Visit ALA's information page on our efforts here. Look for this story as the cover story in the October 13 issue of Legal Management.
