John Leonard Employment Services, Inc., Derek McKinley, President

How and why did you come to work with law firms? Law firms have always been one of the biggest drivers of the local business landscape. Therefore, John Leonard began providing the legal community with quality and cost effective Temporary and Direct-Hire staffing solutions when we opened our doors in 1969. In fact, we were originally named Legal Secretaries, Inc.

Today, even as we have broadened our footprint across other industries, John Leonard continues to have a deep commitment to the legal sector, as evidenced by our Gold level partnership with the Boston Chapter ALA.

Why is your service/product important to law firms? A firms greatest asset is its people. John Leonards comprehensive and exhaustive screening and selection process ensures that only the most qualified candidates are presented to clients.

What makes your service/product unique? John Leonards highly developed network of proven performers is critical to our clients success. The majority of our direct-hire candidates and temporary representatives are referred to us directly and would not otherwise be accessible to our clients.

This begs the question... how has John Leonard achieved and continued to enjoy such a large candidate referral base? The answer is simple: We care about people. We never lose sight of the fact that we represent human beings who deserve to be treated with respect and compassion. We also never forget that our client firms are only as good as the quality of their employees.

We approach every engagement knowing that Actions Speak Louder Than Words! With thousands of candidates helped and thousands of organizations served, we know our actions have spoken more loudly than any words ever could.

Share how your company solves problems. John Leonard recognizes that no two law firms are the same and each has their own specific cultural make-up that sets them apart. Each staffing engagement begins by having a detailed discussion with our client to determine what makes a good fit” for a particular job, within that particular organization. Our Staffing Consultants request that clients provide us with an insight into the “report to supervisor's personality and job related "hot buttons," as well as a description of the personality type proven to be successful. This information is critical to providing successful solutions for our clients staffing problems.

But it doesnt stop there. Once you have hired the new employee or accepted the temporary for your assignment, we make sure you have made the best choice by conducting our two-week performance assessment” or our temporary worker evaluation” where you confirm that you have the best fit for your need.

Share a success story your company has experienced working with a law firm. With a days notice, ten temporaries were on the job ready to handle a time sensitive document review project. This was achieved by having a strict candidate availability structure in place within John Leonard. Knowing who was available for assignment and already having references checked, allowed us to act fast, provide specialized talent promptly, and ensure project deadlines were met.

Share your "WOW" factor. John Leonards WOW factor is our team of highly trained, experienced Staffing Consultants who are committed to providing clients (employers and employees alike) with the best possible service. Under John Leonards roof, six (6) consultants represent 72 years of employment consulting expertise. Adding four (4) management team members to this group yields a total of 179 years of experience. We enjoy tremendous staff stability which, in our industry, is a very unique WOW factor.

Our track record reflects our persistent commitment to service excellence and to ethical business practices. We work hard to earn your respect.
