Megan A. Fitton, Office Administrator

Jones Day

Years in field?  8.

What do you most enjoy about your job?  There are many things I love about my job, but most of it can be summed up, in general, as the satisfaction that comes with overcoming challenges. As administrators, we are often faced with a variety of workplace challenges – whether they are process related or people related – and we are tasked with making things run seamlessly within our firms. It is rewarding to work with members of the firm as well as with one another in the ALA to figure out how to tackle each challenge and work together to develop innovative ways to support one another and our respective firm leadership.

What is your biggest challenge at work?  One of the challenges for me can be acting as the mediator between firm leadership and employees. There is sometimes a fine line between being the team’s cheerleader and being the team’s manager. The goals of the firm and the desires of the employees should, in theory, run parallel, but occasionally that is not so. This can be challenging when part of your role is to keep the people on your team feeling invested and valued.

When you're not at work, you like to…? Spend time with family and friends, and travel. For now, the bulk of my free time is spent planning my November wedding in Mexico!

Favorite T.V. Show?  At the moment, the Olympics – I’m a huge fan of gymnastics. Otherwise, I enjoy many of the crime/drama/mystery shows such as Unforgettable, NCIS, and Criminal Minds, and I watch a lot of Boston sports.
