|President's Message - Amy Egan Cook, April 2018|
Boston Chapter ALA
Dear Fellow Members and Business Partners:
As a long-time Boston Chapter Member, it is my pleasure to serve as President of this incredible organization. As I take over the reins, I would like to pay tribute to my predecessor and now Immediate Past President, Christopher O’Sullivan. Chris has worked tirelessly this past year on behalf of our Chapter. He has been a terrific role model; his shoes will be impossible to fill. While I have the pleasure of now serving as the Chapter President, the ongoing success of the Chapter would not be possible without the active support of our members, outstanding business partners and Board of Directors. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank all of you for your past and continued dedication to the Chapter.
The Boston Chapter continues to grow stronger each year. We strive to provide outstanding professional development opportunities, such as our quarterly events, educational and interactive monthly programs, summer workshops and the annual One Day Leadership Conference, to name a few. The Chapter’s networking and volunteer events help members expand their network of contacts, building invaluable personal and professional relationships. We also continue to make an impact within our community through community outreach initiatives and diversity and inclusion efforts. The Boston Chapter is an energetic community where members and business partners share ideas, learn from one another, and grow together.
Your Chapter leadership has been hard at work during the last few months. We have an even stronger educational and social calendar prepared for you this coming year. Please take a look at the full calendar on the Chapter’s website and watch your email for The Buzz and The Boston Chapter Chatter Newsletter for details on specific events with RSVP links.
In closing, the heart of the Boston Chapter is its members. The effort of our volunteers has always been and will continue to be the cornerstone of what makes the Boston Chapter an outstanding professional association. As the saying goes, “many hands make light work.” I encourage you to get involved today.
I look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at one of our many events this year and encourage you to provide feedback directly to me at email@example.com.
