September 2018

Boston Chapter ALA
President’s Letter

Dear Fellow Members and Business Partners:

I hope you all enjoyed the summer months - they sure did go by fast!

The Boston Chapter had a busy schedule as well. At the 2018 Golf Tournament and Casino Night, Chapter Members and Business Partners enjoyed 6 holes of golf followed by an exciting evening of casino games, dinner and awards. It was a fabulous day and everyone left feeling like they hit the jackpot!

In July we had our annual Summer Workshop, presented by Judy Hissong. The program focused on communication and conflict. This year, attendees participated in a pre-session online assessment, using a Strength Deployment Inventory (SDI) tool. The program was both informative and entertaining and received excellent reviews.

We could not have asked for a more perfect night than that of July 18th for our Silver Summer Cruise. Members, Business Partners and guests enjoyed a night of delicious food, cocktails and some great conversations as they sailed through Boston Harbor taking in the beautiful city skyline.

August Challenge Complete! Thank you for your continued support of the Chapter's three-year commitment with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Medford and Somerville. 100% of your donations have gone directly to building and sustaining a program for at-risk teens and young adults.  In April, the Boston Chapter was honored with the 2018 Medford Community Partner of the Year award, and we could not have received that honor without your support. Thank you!

The Chapter continues to have its monthly Coffee Connection at the Panera Cares Café (3 Center Plaza) the first Wednesday of every month from 8 am to 9 am (no rsvp required). Stop in and join us for a (free) cup of coffee. Attendees have enjoyed some really great conversation!

The Board has been full steam ahead all summer long putting the final touches on what promises to be an excellent second half of the year, including:
